Acrobatics
IDF - Independent Dance Federation, added Acrobatics to their long-standing dance syllabi in 2010, this syllabus is much more focused on the incorporation of acrobatics into dance, not only teaching single tricks but movement as well. It is also suited for both dedicated, hardworking pupils as well as those doing it for the enjoyment only.
Acro is based on the following:
- flexibility
- balance
- strength
- tumbling
- transitions
- contortion
- musicality
- team work
A basic class would be:
- 15 min cardio and muscle group warm up
- depending on the level, cartwheels and hand stands from the corner
- detailed warm up of specific muscles being used
- the tricks using those muscles taught in detail
- split stretch
- cool down
For safety reasons I put emphasis on warming up properly before attempting tricks and do my best to educate the students of this as well. I have yet to have any injuries in my classes and aim to keep it that way.
Group Classes as well as Private Lessons are available in all Styles.
